"I appreciate the high academic bar that is set at SPPS and the academic pins that are handed out each year for meeting the goals.  I didn't like the fact that a "C" would take you off the honor roll, but I find that my son works a lot harder on his grades because he wants to be on the honor roll and is becoming a better student with the higher standard set."

Grading Scale

95% -100% = A
87% -94% = B
76% -86% = C
70% - 75% = D

Academic & Sports Awards

Picture
Beginning in 3rd grade, students begin earning academic awards.  Honor pins are given to students who are on the honor roll at least two quarters.  Lamps of Learning are given to those who earned straight-A's twice in a year.  Perfect attendance, basketball and cheerleading pins are also given.    Our "R" for Ravens badges are a popular motivator.
