School Leadership

Fr. Anthony Amadi

Pastor

Father Anthony Amadi, SMMM, comes to the Diocese of Boise and Grangeville from Nigeria. Father Anthony studied philosophy at St. Joseph’s Major Seminary in Ikot-Ekpene and theology at Seat of Wisdom Major Seminary in Owerri, Imo. He was ordained on July 22, 2006, at Mater Dei Cathedral in Umuahia.

Father Anthony served as principal at Holy Family Secondary School and as principal at Bishop Nwedo Memorial Boys’ High School in Ossah. He also served as the assistant cathedral administrator at St. Mary’s Cathedral and the pastor at parishes in Honsea, Hull City, and Redcar for several years before being named a teacher and sports director at Holy Family Secondary School.

Just before coming to the United States, he was rector and vocations director at Mercy Seminary in Bende, operated by his order, the Sons of Mary, Mother of Mercy.

Rhett Mahoney

Principal

Rhett Mahoney was a school teacher for 19 years in Moscow, Genesee, Lewiston, and at Sts. Peter and Paul School. He was hired as principal for the 2018–2019 school year.

Sara Wilkinson

Preschool Teacher

Sara graduated from Clearwater Valley High School and earned a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho in 2003. She worked as a teacher for Clearwater Valley Presbyterian Preschool before joining SPPS in 2012 as our preschool and art teacher. Sara and her husband, Cody, have two children, Abe and Ila, both of whom are SPPS alumni.

Kathryn Holman-Rupp

Kindergarten Teacher

A Sts. Peter and Paul School alumna and graduate of Grangeville High School, Katie earned a BS degree in Elementary Education from the University of Idaho in 2012 and began teaching at SPPS that same year. She is a certified teacher in the State of Idaho. Katie and her husband, Tyler, have three children who attend SPPS.

Betty Kouts

First Grade Teacher

Mrs. Kouts is originally from Cambridge, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she met her husband, John. They have been married for 31 years and have two grown daughters, Bethany and Jody, a son-in-law, Matt, and two Shih Tzu–Havanese mixes, Smokey and Pokey.

After living in Ohio, God led the Kouts family to Georgia, where Mrs. Kouts earned a Master of Arts in Teaching and her husband answered the call to preach. They have pastored churches in Georgia, Missouri, and now Idaho. Mrs. Kouts has taught preschool, computers, kindergarten, and second grade, and she is excited to teach first grade at SPPS.

In her free time, she enjoys cruises, swimming, bowling, taking drives, and spending time with her family. She is honored and excited to become part of the Sts. Peter and Paul School family.

Laurel Kuther

Second Grade Teacher

I am Laurel Kuther, currently living on the Camas Prairie in Idaho and starting my career as an elementary educator for Sts. Peter and Paul School during the 2026–2027 school year. I have had a lot of experience with young children, including babysitting and swimming instruction for both public and private lessons.

In 2025, I finished my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Lewis-Clark State College, and I am hopefully anticipating a valuable and successful year ahead. I value my Catholic beliefs, home and family, and learning new crafts. I hope to create a positive and pleasant atmosphere for the students and staff I will be working with.

Jenna Murdock

Third and Fourth Grade Teacher

Jenna graduated from Prairie High School and then earned her BS degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading from Lewis-Clark State College. She is a certified teacher in the State of Idaho and also received her certification to teach religion from the Diocese of Boise. She began teaching at SPPS in 2008, and her favorite subject to teach is religion. She and her husband, Matthew, have seven children.

Sarah Warren

Fifth and Sixth Grade Homeroom; Grades 5–8 Science; Grades 6–8 Math

My name is Sarah Warren, and I am grateful to be part of the SPPS family. I was born and raised in Utah near Hill Air Force Base in Layton, where my husband and I grew up in the suburbs dreaming of a simpler, more authentic life. Today, we live that dream on our small hobby farm, working hard, learning together, and enjoying the many gifts God has given us.

I have been married for 21 years, and I am the mother of nine beautiful children. Teaching has always been a calling in my life. I have taught Catechism for more than 17 years, and I returned to school to earn my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a Middle School Math endorsement. I graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in the spring of 2024.

My children and I are excited to be part of the SPPS community, and I look forward to growing, learning, and serving alongside your families.

Alexis Shears

Seventh and Eighth Grade Homeroom; Grades 5–8 Social Studies; Grades 5 and 7 Math

Hello! My name is Alexis Shears, and I am excited to be a part of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School as the seventh- and eighth-grade teacher! I was born and raised in Cottonwood and am the oldest of seven, with two brothers and four sisters. I attended and graduated from Prairie High School and afterward attended Boise State University, where I received my degree in Elementary Education.

Some things that I love to do are go camping and be outdoors, play basketball and volleyball, read, and spend time with family and friends. Last, but certainly not least, the thing that I consider most important about myself is my faith and being able to live out my life more fully for God. I am truly excited to be a part of Sts. Peter and Paul and to work with each of the kids in the classroom!

Teresa Groom

Music Teacher

Teresa Groom has been a part of the SPPS staff since 1990. She has been both a part-time and full-time teacher at SPPS and has served as both principal and assistant principal. Teresa graduated from the University of Idaho with two BS degrees: one in Elementary Education and the other in Child Development and Family Relations. She later earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Teresa is both a certified teacher and a certified principal in the State of Idaho and also received her certification to teach religion from the Diocese of Boise. Her husband, Rob, is an alumnus of Sts. Peter and Paul School, and all four of their children are also graduates of SPPS.

MaeLena Dalling

Art Teacher

MaeLena Dalling is excited to join the SPPS community as the new art teacher. She is artistically creative in all that she does and is passionate about encouraging others to discover and develop their own creativity. MaeLena is also a nonprofit founder and the mother of five children.

A naturally creative person, MaeLena loves expressing her creativity through art and through her many hobbies, including gardening, growing cut flowers, photography, reading, and spending time with her family. She believes creativity is something everyone can develop and hopes to inspire her students to discover the joy and confidence that come from creating.

Her faith, life experiences, and love of serving others have shaped the way she teaches. She strives to create a classroom where students feel welcomed, encouraged, and excited to learn. More than anything, she hopes her students leave knowing that creativity is a gift—one that can bring beauty, kindness, and hope into the lives of others.

Kirsten Brown

School Secretary

Hi, I’m Kirsten Brown! I love being part of the Sts. Peter and Paul community and helping our school families with registration, billing, and whatever else may come up in the school office. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know our students and families and helping them feel welcomed and supported. My husband, Michael, and I have five children, so family life keeps us very busy! My Catholic faith is a very important part of who I am, and one of my greatest passions is serving as our parish youth minister. I love spending time with our youth, helping them grow closer to Christ, and showing them that faith can be joyful, meaningful, and part of everyday life.

Bridget Arnzen

Teaching Assistant

I have worked as a teaching assistant at Sts. Peter and Paul School for several years, giving me the opportunity to learn nearly every aspect of the school. During my time here, I have built relationships with students, staff, and families while gaining an understanding of what it takes to support a positive learning environment.

I enjoy working with children throughout their day—whether I am helping them with an assignment, supervising lunch and recesses, braving the frigid winter weather with them, or simply being someone they can talk to. In addition to supporting students, I work closely with teachers and am always ready to assist with whatever they need, helping the classroom and school run smoothly.

My experience has strengthened my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, and I am committed to helping create an environment where every student can learn and succeed.

Teresa Seloske

Librarian and Classroom Aide

Teresa graduated from Humboldt State University with a BS degree in Natural Resources Planning and Interpretation. She worked for the National Park Service for six years and still gives tours of the White Bird Battlefield to our third- and fourth-grade students during their Idaho History study unit. She has worked at SPPS since 2000, when she began as a volunteer librarian. She was hired part-time to oversee the computerization of our library and has worked as our librarian ever since. She also works as a Title I aide and a teacher’s aide.

In 2000, she became the school’s Recycling Coordinator and continues to volunteer in this program. She began the ink recycling program at SPPS, and funds from the program are used to purchase library books. Teresa and her husband, Garry, have three sons, all of whom have graduated from the school.

Catherine Calovich

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catherine attended Catholic schools during her elementary and high school years, graduating from Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with bachelor’s degrees in both Photojournalism and Psychology.

Catherine has spent the last 30+ years serving the Church in various capacities, including teaching the Catholic faith, liturgy, homeless services, respect life, and family life ministries. She has worked in parishes in Kansas, Florida, and Idaho and for the Dioceses of Wichita, Kansas, and St. Augustine, Florida.

Teaching the faith is her favorite ministry and includes sacramental preparation for youth, adults, and those with disabilities. In 2013, Catherine discovered Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) and is trained in Levels I, II, and III for children ages 3–12. She currently leads CGS for our parish and school children in PreK through sixth grade.

Catherine’s favorite things to do are attending Mass, spending time in Eucharistic adoration, traveling, and exploring the surrounding areas of Grangeville. Omnia ad gloriam Dei!

Jamie Florence

Cook

Hi, I'm Jamie Florence. I'm the lunch lady at SPPS and have been cooking for the past few years and love it. I try and treat them like they are all my kiddos. I moved to Grangeville about 5 years ago now. My parents have lived here about 20 years now, my grandparents before that. I have grown up coming to Grangeville my whole life. I knew I wanted my son to grow up in a small town that looks after each other. Which is very warm to my heart. I have been married for 10 years now (oh my where has the time gone) to my husband Bruce Florence, who helps me from time to time in the kitchen. We have one son Blake Florence, we have dogs and horses. When I'm not cooking for the kiddos, I love anything that has to do with my horses. Love floating the river, going to the lakes and being outside and being with my family and friends.
