Fr. Anthony Amadi

Father Anthony Amadi, SMMM, comes to the Diocese of Boise and Grangeville from Nigeria. Father Anthony studied philosophy at St. Joseph’s Major Seminary in Ikot-Ekpene and theology at Seat of Wisdom Major Seminary in Owerri, Imo. He was ordained on July 22, 2006, at Mater Dei Cathedral in Umuahia.
Father Anthony served as principal at Holy Family Secondary School and as principal at Bishop Nwedo Memorial Boys’ High School in Ossah. He also served as the assistant cathedral administrator at St. Mary’s Cathedral and the pastor at parishes in Honsea, Hull City, and Redcar for several years before being named a teacher and sports director at Holy Family Secondary School.
Just before coming to the United States, he was rector and vocations director at Mercy Seminary in Bende, operated by his order, the Sons of Mary, Mother of Mercy.
